English Wildlife on the Web
Jays on vacationIf you have ever wondered about what kind of wildlife inhabits the back gardens of quaint old England, then look no further than Just Millifan. A regular blogger, Millifan is passionate about animals and wildlife, and her garden is not short of either. She frequently whips out her camera and captures candid and often comic photographs of the critters that come to visit her backyard.
Her recent guests include two Jays. She has captured these beautiful birds in glorious detail, from when they were small, fluffy fledglings to more arrogant and bold adults who treat her garden like they own it, relaxing in her pool and lawn furniture.FoxYou would think that the fox would perhaps keep the birds away, but since he doesn't seem to be doing anything about the enormous fat pigeon devouring her plants then perhaps he prefers to forage for other food.
One thing is for sure, you certainly can't expect this cat to actively deter birds!
Another great blog that offers a glimpse into the gardens in England to see all of the wonderful wildlife that lives there is Urban Extension, which has lots of information and stunning photographs of mammals, reptiles, insects and birds, including kestrels, ospreys and owls. They even have a range of webcams which catch all sorts of animals going about their business, quite unsuspecting that there are people watching them from all around the world! Which of their animal celebrities is your favorite?
